What is SSC CHSL Syllabus Covered Under SSC Exams?

The Staff Selection Commission conducts several SSC exams throughout the year. It is one of the competitive examinations in India. Lakhs of students appear every year for SSC exams. What is the Syllabus for the SSC CHSL Exam?

The SSC CHSL Syllabus examination is divided into three stages. They are a computer-based exam, a skill test, and a descriptive paper. The detailed syllabus of the SSC CHSL examination is mentioned below.

  • Reasoning Syllabus: Analogy, Venn Diagram, Number Series, Figural Classification, Coding-Decoding, Verbal Classification, Missing Number, Verbal and Non-Verbal Classification.
  • English Syllabus: Fill In the blanks, Spot the error, Spelling Errors, Improvement of Sentences, Active and Passive Voice, Idioms and Phrase, Para Jumbles, Reading Comprehension, and the rest of it.
  • Maths Syllabus: Number System, Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, SI and CI, Profit and Loss, Time and Distance and Work, Discount, and so on. These are some important topics for the maths section.
  • General Awareness Syllabus: India’s Polity, History, Geography, Economics, and Current Affairs, General Knowledge, and so on.

Third-tier is a descriptive paper.

And the fourth tier is the skill test or proficiency test.

The first and second tier is in online mode while the third and fourth are offline.

What is the SSC CHSL Exam?

SSC CHSL exam is acknowledged as the Staff Selection Commission Combined Higher Secondary Level exam. It is a national-level exam conducted to recruit students who have passed their intermediate into the different departments of Government organizations, departments, and offices.

It is held in three tiers.

  • Applicants must be citizens of India.
  • Age limit:
    • Minimum=18 years
    • Maximum=27years
  • Candidates must have passed their intermediate from any recognised school or university( For LDC/ JSA, PA/ SA).
  • For data entry operator candidates must have passed their intermediate in science stream with mathematics subject.
  • Application fees.
    • For the general category, it is INR 100.
    • There is no application fee for SC/ST/PwD/Ex-Servicemen/ Women Candidates.

There are different cutoff marks for different categories and exams. To pass the SSC exams applicants must secure marks more than the cut-off released for the particular exam after the declaration of results.
