The term “linear proportional relationship” has been used in a variety of forms over the years, but the way the three components of the term are used has remained consistent. For example, you could have a bunch of numbers that are all the same distance apart and you could have a bunch of numbers that are all the same length.
Some people think that proportional relationships are really the same thing as proportional relationships. I think its just a name that makes for easier reading. I guess that’s what proportional relationships are. If you have a linear relationship between two numbers, you just need to know the relationships between the numbers. For example: 7.5×9 = 42.45. If you have the same number of units apart between two numbers, you know that the relationship is proportional.
